Acting Auditions

Acting Auditions will be scheduled on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 pm. in half-hour blocks. All auditionees scheduled for a block will be ushered into the audition space in a group at the beginning of each half-hour block. Callbacks will be posted by producers immediately following the audition block. Callbacks will be held in classrooms on the Muskingum University campus at times determined by each producer. Actors should bring multiple copies of their resumes for callback interviews, and be prepared to perform additional material during callbacks. Callbacks may extend until late evening. Auditionees who wish to spend the night on Friday or Saturday night may choose to stay at a nearby hotel in Cambridge or Zanesville.

Singers : An accompanist will be provided for those who choose to sing. Singers will need to provide sheet music for the accompanist. Taped accompaniment and a capella singing will not be permitted. The entire audition (music and acting) must be no longer than 90 seconds.

Dance Auditions

Dance Auditions for performers who audition in the morning will be held at noon; dance auditions for performers who audition in the afternoon will be held after the last round of auditions in the afternoon. Several dance training sessions will be offered throughout the day. Auditionees may attend one or more sessions to learn either the mover combination (for those with no formal training), or the dance combination (for those with formal training). Training session times will be posted on our facebook page in January. Two combinations will be taught: one for movers (those with no formal training), another for dancers (those with formal training). Bring appropriate dancewear for your audition. Those with tap experience will have the opportunity to showcase their tap skills.

Technical Interviews

For Designers, Technicians, Stage Managers, and Administrators: Technical interviews will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1p.m. to 4 p.m.  Immediately after registration, technicians will begin to schedule appointments with producers.  The length of the interview will be determined by the producing organization. An appointment sheet will be available in the registration lobby. Technical interviewees are expected to bring a professional portfolio and full resume.

N.B. - You must be 18 or older by January 19, 2013 to audition or interview!
